Passing Illuminations
Project type
Photography
Date
2023
Location
New York City
This series follows the passage of natural light as it intersects with built environments. The photographs observe how sunlight carves space, softens edges, and leaves fleeting imprints across surfaces. What emerges is a visual record of transience, where light redefines the boundaries between solidity and fragility, presence and absence.
By treating light as both subject and material, the work reflects on the impermanence of perception and the subtle ways in which the everyday environment is continually reshaped. These images suggest that illumination is not only a physical condition but also a temporal and psychological one, marking the rhythms through which we inhabit space.
